Birthday Boy & Friends...

The birthday party was a HUGE success!  I'm going to show pictures in a series of posts!  Here are some of Punkin & friends & family at the party!  I totally didn't get pictures with him and everybody, and that makes me sad, but things were so crazy, I didn't think about it untill after it was all said & done!

Punkin has a new found love for ice!!  He would pick up pieces & take them to people & put it in their hands!  HA!

Some of "CHS class of 2007" holding strong after all these years!  These are some of the best friends that helped make my High School memories & some of the best friends a girl could ask for!  They are always willing to help me out & spoil my lil Punkin!--even when it's NOT his birthday!  They love him so much, and he LOVES them!

He loves his mommy & daddy....but he loves that new cell phone more!

We had a great crowd of family & friends from all over the place!  I am so blessed to know that I have such special people in my life that care so much about me & my sweet little boy!  The day was perfect & it wouldn't have been what it was without all of these people!

2nd haircut & lunch w/ friends!

The day after Punkin's birthday we went & got his second hair cut from Ms. Jennifer!  He sat in his own booster seat this time, and even got to have his first sucker!  :P

After his haircut we met Auntie Dell, her friend Paige, and Ms. Kelly for lunch at Cross Creek!  We love that place, and they'd never been!  So...they were in for a treat!  :P

Being the great aunt that she is...she brought Punkin' a lil smash cake from Rick's!  I couldn't let him dig in like I would have if we would have been at home, but he got a few good licks of the icing!  

She even brought Mommy a lil treat!

Punkin's Special Day!--1 year!

On Punkin's special day..I had class.  All.day.long unfortunately.  But his Daddy took off work so he could be with him all day!  I'm so glad that they got to spend the day together!  Knowing he was with his Daddy made it a little easier on me being in class all day.  

Jake came early enough before I had to leave for class so we could watch Punkin' eat his breakfast!  I got up a lil earlier and made him some chocolate chip muffins!  YUMM!  I don't think he's every really had "chocolate" before so he loved it, and made a huge mess!

I've been reading "Birthday Monsters" to him for about a week now, so I read it to him before breakfast as well!

I woke Punkin' up telling him that "today was the day!"  He is such a sweet boy in the morning and is so warm & soft & cuddly!

I love this picture!  It couldn't be any more perfect!  He points at everything...but it's fun to act like he's saying, "I'm ONE today!"

...& this is the face he makes alot when I get the camera out!  It's like his "Hey!  Look at me face!"

They did all sorts of "boy" things all day.  Ran errands, ate lunch with one of Daddy's friends, went and visited a few places to see some people, took at nap together, & went to the car wash (which Punkin' did NOT like!) :P

After I got out of class and Punkin' woke up from his nap, we headed to Old Chicago for some YUMMY dinner!  Punkin' got to color for the first time!  I was so proud of him!  We would hand him a crayon in his right hand & he would switch it to his left!  :O  Pops does NOT want his boy to be left handed!  :P  "The worlds not made for left handed people..."

He is such a good boy when we go out to eat!  He LOVES people so much!!  He will stop anyone walking by just to get them to give him some attention!  :P  He actually got his first "kids meal" too!  Mac & cheese & applesauce!  He ate it ALL!

KeeKee came over & brought him some balloons.  He was NOT sure what to think about them!  HA!

It was finally time to let Punkin' dig into a YUMMY cupcake!  He wasn't quite sure what to think...but only at first!

...and then we got a bath & got all cleaned up and ready for bed.  The big birthday day was coming to a close.  :/

I let him open a few presents I had picked up for him...he loved the big heavy glittery ball Daddy got him, and the book 100 first animals I found for him!  We've looked through it every day since!  HA!

My Sweet Baby Punkin's Birthday!

Today is the day.

We've all been waiting for it.

And now that it's here...I kinda wish it wasn't.  :/

But..moving forward I am so HAPPY & BLESSED to have such a fun loving, sweet, caring, cuddly, HEALTHY, hilarious, handsome...did I say sweet?, all boy, little boy!

It's hard to believe that it's actually been a whole year.

I never knew I could love someONE so much.

Parents out there...you know.   Not a parent yet?--one day, you'll KNOW.

I joke & say I don't want him to grow up, I want him to be "my" baby forever.

I want him to be sweet forever.

I want him to be moma's boy FOREVER.

But...he has to grow up.

I say every month, he gets to be more fun, and that's what I have to keep telling myself.

This whole "one year old" thing isn't bad.

It only gets better!

That day doesn't seem that long ago.

I remember how ready I was.

I remember how ready I was to meet this sweet little boy.

I remember how ready I was to take him home & take care of him.

I remember the "I'm about to meet my son" feeling.

Nothing.like.it!

I would totally relive that day if I could.

I don't remember ALL the details & I wish I did.

I wish I could relive it, and soak in even more than before!

We've come so far in 12 months.

From newborn clothes till he was 3 months old, to wearing 18 months before he was 12 months old.

From nursing, to bottle, to sippy cup.

From laying down to running around!

I love the way he loves his mama.

I wish he knew how much I loved him.

He will one day.

When he has kids of his own.

I didn't know how much my parents loved me, until a year ago today.

There are no words to describe the feeling.

My crazy boy can get a lil pissy.

Believe it or not, he still does his hands like that when something doesn't go his way. :P

Sometimes I still find it hard to believe that HE.IS.MINE. 

He grew inside of me for 9 (10) months.

I am responsible for him.

I am his caretaker, his provider.

He relies on me for every.thing.

I love doing that & being that for him.

There's nothing I wouldn't ever do for my sweet boy.

& he loves his daddy.

I can officially say his third word is "da-da".

He started that this week, and has put two and two together, and says it when we are talking to daddy on the phone.

He lights up when he's in the room.

He has his arms.  His legs.  

Button down shirt sleeves are too short, and jeans are flood waters.

Thanks to daddy.  :P

Where our child got blonde hair...?  We don't know.

I'm scared of the adventures these 2 are going to have together.

But it will be nothing but a blast for my Punkin.

Punkin,

I love you so much and can't believe your a year old!  Times flies when your fixen bottles, having to schedule a shower, changing gag-worthy diapers, doing loads of laundry, forgetting to eat, & chasing you around the house!  This past year has been so much fun with you!  I never knew someone could bring so much JOY to my life.  I look forward to you growing up to be a bright, Godly young man, and hopefully always being moma's boy!  :P  You already make me so proud!  =)
