shaw wedding weekend {fayetteville, ar}

My last wedding post for a while!--sadly!  One of my best friends from HS tied the knot to a beyond fabulous guy on June 21st in Fayetteville, and I was so lucky and thankful to be apart of their wonderful wedding weekend!

I drove up Thursday morning...the bridesmaids that were there went and got their toes and nails done with Anna and her mom!  We had a blast reminiscing and sippin' on champagne!  ;)  That night we enjoyed some mexican food on the patio while enjoying the wonderful weather!

[FRIDAY]
Friday morning we were UP and at um to run errands!  That including getting the Bride a Starbucks drink!  (Let's just say...the barrista got to know my name by the time the weekend was over!)
Beautiful bride with my new friend Liz at the Bridesmaid Luncheon at Mermaids!--she flew in from Seattle for the wedding weekend!  Sweetheart beyond sweethearts, and so thankful to have gotten to finally meet and hang out with her!
After rehearsal we had some downtime before dinner started! [LIZ, ME, FIONA]

 Beautiful Bride and handsome Groom!
Dinner was at Hog Haus on Dickson, which is always fun!  The weather was great--we later went to a roof top bar to enjoy some more company and watch the amazing lightening show that was going on before heading home to get ready for the BIG DAY!

[SATURDAY]
This girl was UP and ready to go bright an early!  A walk around the neighborhood at 6 am, a Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte and a few Red Bulls...and she was good to go!! ;) :P

Bo did such an amazing job on her hair and make-up!  He also made the experience so fun for the rest of us!  Off to the venue!

Getting ready for the first look!  =)

They were right outside the front doors of the church...doing a little peeking! ;)
...and there they are after their first look!  (I knew I probably wouldn't have time to get another picture of the two of them!)

Aren't they the most beautiful Mother-Daughter duo you've ever seen?!  LOVE them both!
The table and cake matched her dress! ;)
Their signature strawberry wine--from a winery they visited when they got engaged!
This cake was a cookie in a couple different layers!  They served it with milk! ;)
 Love this!
Rick's cakes do not need an explanation...sadly right after this picture "FANCY" by Iggy came on...and off to the dance floor I went...never to return.  :(  I didn't even realize I didn't finish my cake until the night was over...sad day, but I guess I was just having too much fun on the dance floor with my friends! ;)

 This describes the Bride perfectly!
Father/Daughter dance with SIL/MIL at the same time!
It was a beautiful wedding weekend spent with life long friends!  I'm so happy for Anna and Robert and the life that they have officially started together!  Sunday morning rolled around...and back home I went!

mid week randoms

We've been away for a few days and it's been GLOOO-RIOUS--but at the same time I always itch for routine!  Just a few mid-week randoms for ya!
Thank goodness for iPads on road trips!  & earbuds!  ;) (can I get an amen Mamas?!)
Thankful for iced carmel machiattos when I have a killer headache...
I checked out this book from the public library...I've read almost all of his books, but not this one!  (and yes that's large print...it's all they had!). & PS that sunscreen is worth a try for the smell alone if you haven't tried it already!
We've been on lots of adventures and eatting lots of yummy foods while being away which is alwats fun!  So far this fancy chicken fajita has been my fav!

Lots of things to catch you guys up on when we get settled back in and I can't wait!

How is it already Wednesday?  and in the third week in July?!  This summer has flown by faster than any summer I can recall!

I hope you are enjoying yourselves and making memories with family and friends!

little red lovin'

While I was away a few weekends ago...Poppy was on a mission to take R fishin!  Of course that required a trip to Bass Pro!
They went and spent the night with Nana and Papaw on the Little Red on Friday night.
This was R's first time fishing in a boat!  They said it was fairly cool but they had a good morning!
R loves his Uncle G!

I'm so thankful that R gets the chance to do fun things like this at such a young age!

Thank you for taking him Poppy and Uncle G!

fourth fun!

I know I'm all sorts of our of order...but that's okay!

We had a pretty chill fourth...R has his last day of swimming lessons in the morning, we took a nice nap after eating lunch and then it was time for the friends to come over!
I loved this picture I got of the American Flag hanging and the beautiful light coming into the pool.
All the kids got to jump off the diving board to their teacher and then swim to the side of the pool since it was the last day!  R loved it and did really good (after we told him to jump OUT, away from the board)!!!

I honestly don't have one pictures of lunch with the fam.  The kids all played in the water in the driveway all afternoon...with 7 cousins running around, I rarely see or hear from R until they leave!  Ha!
We've never gone to the CC to watch FW or anything...we've just always done our own at home, and R didn't know he was missing out on anything.  Well, this year we got brave and made out way out to the CC.  It wasn't bad at first, but we were reminded as to why we avoid that area!  Talk about anxiety for this Mama...I just don't do crowds of people well.
He collected these balls and tees from the range while we patiently waited for the sun to go down!
MacKenzie came to visit us!
Beautiful night!
The ice cream truck drove thru while we were waiting...and you better believe I chased that thing down to get my baby an ice cream!

The fireworks were great and R loved that they "came and then disappeared"!  We left a little before they were over to avoid the crowds....best idea we've had!

R did realize the day after that we didn't do our "own fireworks".  Mom of the year award I know....he cried, but quickly got over it with a trip to the park and ice cream.

mommy/ryder day

Saturday we got up and headed to Home Depot for their Kid's Workshop!  R had build something last summer when they came to his school...& it was something I had been meaning to do, but just always forgot!
He got to build a creator cage!  It was all "do on your own" meaning you didn't have to wait on everyone in the class to finish each step...you just went at your own pace which was nice--EXCEPT the parent ends up doing most of the "building"!

R did get to do the cool stuff like paint though! ;)

He loved it...and has always enjoyed being "creative" so this was fun for him!

We've already signed up for the August workshop!
Next stop was Chick for breakfast...R was hungry and I'm not gonna turn down chicken minis! :)

Next we stopped by the baseball field where he would be going to camp...I didn't want the field to intimidate him because of the size!  I think it just made him excited!

{Sidenote:  he does not understand why baseball "camp" doesn't involve tents!}
Ryder went to his Mimi's for the night...it was so cool out I decided to make a visit to the park for some peaceful and "outdoorsy" quiet time.  It was just what j needed and I'm already looking forward to my next visit out there!
PS I am loving (if that's the right word...) the Sermon on the Mount study from She Reads Truth.  It's opened my eyes to so many things that used to seem "elementary" that truly aren't....I've written the word "GUILTY" in my bible too many times in the past 8 days to count...but I am thankful for that!

Hope you are having a fantastic Tuesday!  I'll leave you with this to ponder for today!
