christmas with GA fam

We were so lucky to have Tonya and Luke, and Aunt Kathy and Uncle Sam visit us during the second weekend of December to celebrate Christmas.  We usually do this every other year...the year we don't go to Atlanta to see them for Thanksgiving, and this was that year!

Tonya and Luke flew in Thursday night...and Squeak the elf brought them some goodies to welcome them to AR! ;)
All of our parents (mine included) took Friday off to spent time together...and the "kids" all went to work!  Well I went to work, and Luke and Tonya worked from home!  It was a lot of my kids last day at school because they didn't have to take semester tests and I got so many goodies from my kiddos.  I felt so blessed!
Friday night we had BBQ and stayed up way to late as you can see!  But it's nice to hang out with everybody and then walk back across the street to go to bed!

Saturday we got up and walked back over to my parents for some breakfast.  It was a beautiful day and it was hard to believe it was December!  The boys worked on stuff outside (cars, boats, trailers, etc.) while the girls just hung out.

Later in the afternoon Tonya, Luke, Ryder and I all went walking on the bike trail near our house.  It was tempting to get Chick-Fil-A as we were leaving since it's right there, but Luke and Tonya have Chick in GA, so they wanted to try Pitza 4 2!  I'm so glad I got to take them there...they LOVED it!
Saturday night we got all fancied up for a traditional Christmas dinner!  Luke even gave R his own GT pin!  It looks great on him!

Cousins!  It's been us for a long time...so glad we are still celebrating together after all these years!
Ryder got a Wubble Bubble.  It's a fun toy!  But the big kids popped it after 30 minutes.  Womp.
Ryder loved having Luke around to "play with him" and do boy stuff that I guess I'm not so good at doing!  He is still saying, "I wish Tonya and Luke were still here..."
Too much Wubble Bubble FUN!
Sunday they went to spent time with their other side of the family in LR and then flew home that evening.

Ryder went out to the farm with his dad and road his dirt bike for the first time in a long time...church clothes and all!!
Monday I took Allie and Josh's Christmas card photo for them.  Let's just say, taking a picture with kids maybe easier than taking a picture with two dogs!  Ryder snapped this picture of me staging Fitz!  Ha!  I'm just glad we got a decent enough one for them to send out!
Tuesday night was Craft Night at our new Chick Fil A.  R got to make a Gingerbread house to hang on the tree.

This was Wubble Bubble #2 that I had for back-up in case/when the first one popped.  Yeah, it lasted 3 days.  They say they have a life time warranty, but I've yet to take them back to Target to see what they say.

We had a great time with our visitors and are already ready to see them again!  It's always fun to get into the Spirit a little bit early!

sixties--in july?

Today about the time I was sitting outside on the Chick patio talking with Allie....I wish wishing it was 66 degrees outside again like it was a week or so ago.  Arkansas weather is always crazy...especially in the winter, but I'll take advantage of it's craziness during the summer time too!  I think it just gets confused here and there--but it's a nice treat for us!

Ryder and I took advantage of the amazing weather with a walk/ride on the bike trail (by our new Chick I might add! ;))...it was good to break a sweat without it being KILLER hot out!
We even saw a beaver swimming through the creek!  Can you spot him??

Of course we had to walk over to Chick before getting in the car for some water and mints! ;)

It's days like these that I don't want to forget with my little man.  He won't always be little and willing to hang out with his mom.  So...until then, it's impromptu trips to the bike trail...even if that does mean a muddy bike being in your backseat for a few days because your trunk is too full and you keep forgetting to empty it! ;)  Keepin' it real folks!

Happy Saturday!

our valentine's day

R has been "Star Kid" at school all week...and he knew Valentine's Day was the week of his Star Week, so he's been looking forward to it for a few weeks now!  Even though, I'm not really sure if he even knows what the day is really about!  Ha!

On Thursday, KeeKee & Uncle G went to his school to read a Doc McStuffin's Valentine book, make heart shaped bird feeder crafts, & take blueberry muffins to all his friends for snack!  It was all a huge hit, thank you KeeKee & Uncle G! =)

Nothing better than hearing, "Happy Valentine's Day!" from a sweet lil voice from a sleepy head with their eyes still closed!  :P  Then off to the kitchen to see what he got!  {I opted out of wrapping this year...I mean, Santa doesn't wrap! }  He got Octanaut stuff for his birthday, and then got some new Gups for Christmas...but still needs a few more, so I got him the only one he didn't have at the store!  He was so PUMPED!!  & the Ninja Turtle cell phone he wanted!  Ha!  & some gardening tools because he broke his last week playing outside in the ice...

I attempted at making a heart shaped pancake...but that's not what really mattered!  He enjoyed it anyways!  :P  Then it was getting ready like normal & off to school!
KeeKee made his wonderful Ninja Turtle box!  I think it turned out PERFECT and R loved it!  They had gymnastics and then their Valentine's Party where they decorated cookies with yogurt and fruit!  YUM!

And...for the third year in a row, we enjoyed a sit down dinner at Chick!  It was fun, but R was acting crazy and I'm not sure why!  But I love this lil guy and I love getting to spend every day with him, watching him learn and grow into a young boy!  Time is flying too fast though!! :(  One day he probably won't want to be his mom's Valentine!

super hero night

We love our CFA so much and try not to miss an event they have going on!  Last week it was Super Hero night and you bet we were there--any excuse not to have to "make" dinner right!  :P  R was so excited from the day he found out till the minute we walked in the door!  He was even telling all his friends at school about it!

I could barely get him to eat anything with everything going on around him!  :P

There were all sorts of fun games...and every superhero you could possibly think of, dressed up in costume!

They even had a few characters "fly in" and land on CFA's roof!  How about that!  :P
R was so happy to see Andrew from school there!
