mondays are made for...

Happy Monday friends!  Just a quick update on what we did last Monday!  We didn't stop all week long, and it's time for a recap!
R started swimming lessons at a new place!  Poppy goes swimming there and got him all signed up and I am so thankful!  It was such a successful week compared to where we went last year!  R loved it and I can honestly say he can swim!

I just LOVE this pool!  & look at that American flag!  Perfect for the week of the 4th!
This is our signal that all is good--& you best believe you better give it RIGHT back to him or he'll get a lil ticked! ;)

He did great with Ms. Bri and the 3 other little boys in his class!

After swim we stopped by the library!  We both found a good stack of books to take home!
Then we got a first row seat for a train passing through town...
Around lunch time...KeeKee text us and said to come try her HOMEMADE blueberry cobbler!  It was as yummy as it looks!!  The "crust" had a hint of lemon zest in it which I really loved!  She had to do something with all the blueberries I brought home from Birmingham! ;)
Off to the neighborhood market for stuff to make dinner--taco night it was!
After dinner we played some ball in the driveway...we practice hitting alot, but not catching...so with baseball camp coming up we needed to play catch!
...and finally bed time for this little guy!  As my dad likes to say, "He's recharging his battery!" and that is exactly right!

We have another busy Monday around here, hope you have a GREAT one!

If you can't stop thinking about it, then don't stop working for it.

kiddie pool backyard fun

It was one heck of a hot day, and I thought, "I wish I had a body of water in the backyard to jump into when I got home..." So...we went & got a little kiddie pool for just that!
Who needs a bathing suit anyways?!  :P
Someone was excited about getting out all his "pool toys" that he hadn't seen in a year!

I sure do love this big boy of mine!

Swimmin' Lessons

R took swimming lessons for two weeks earlier this summer at the same place he takes gymnastics.  We had never done lessons before, because I wanted him to be old enough to actually get something out of it.

I would pick him up from school after nap and then we would head to lessons.  We'd get there a little early and we always played on the fun playground outside by the pool.  He's been begging to play on it since it went up a couple months ago--so I was glad we got some play time on it!

Loving this sunscreen I picked up!  It smells SOOO good--not "sunscreeny" at all!

Back stroke!

His favorite part of the day every day!

We had a fairly good experience...but I never actually saw them let him try to "swim"--it was all about skills, which are important, but that wasn't thepurpose of a TWO WEEK LONG swimming lesson!  & then when they told us he needed to come back for another two week session THIS SUMMER in the SAME class--he'd be able to swim.  Umm...no thank you.  We will work on the skills that he learned at our own time for FREE.  Very much a money maker {trying to get you to go to more than one session a summer?!} which didn't make me very happy, and I know I'm not the only one who felt that way by the end of the two weeks.

Thankful for the experience though! =)
