hammocking, as a verb

Last weekend was beautifully amazing...especially for January!  I finally got to put one of my Christmas presents to use!  A hammock wasn't really something I "wanted" until I got in one for the first time at my aunt's house...and I was like "I WANT ONE!!"--so Nana and Papaw got me one for Christmas!  Perfect. 

Everyone I know has Enos, but of course I want to be different...and went with Grant Trunk.  They're the EXACT same thing, but cheaper and they have cuter designs and colors! ;)

I let R test it out first...it was a little too low, so we had to raise it up a bit!  

I let him hammock with me for a bit...but that wasn't quite as relaxing as I was hoping it would be!  I had to tell him to QUIT MOVING!!!  I should have gotten him his iPad and things might have gone a little bit better than they did!  =)  But we had fun, none the less!

He even went inside without me asking and got me a pillow and a blanket, when I complained about my neck hurting!  SO sweet and thoughtful!

It was beautiful on Sunday as well...so while R was at his dad's a did some alone hammocking which included some peace and quiet while I tried to finish a book I've been reading since September.  WOMP WOMP.  

saturdays with poppy and oaklawn

Saturdays have turned from Mommy/Ryder days to Poppy/Ryder days!--& I'm okay with that!  They do things me and R wouldn't normally do!  The last couple of Saturday days they have hit up multiple parks in one day, gotten ice cream and just spent quality time together.  My dad is a lover of the "great outdoors" and I love that he is passing that love down to my little man!

Funny story:  R was holding the wire thing of crickets in the back seat of my dad's truck, and the guy hadn't shut the lid tight enough and it ended up opening up.  R didn't notice (or did and didn't do anything about it) and 30+ crickets got out!  By the time my dad realized, you couldn't see the crickets any more...only hear them!  They chirped in there for 3-4 days...I guess they're dead but we can't find them!  

Sunday we headed down to Hot Springs to watch the horses race!  We stopped in LR to eat brunch at the fabulous Yaya's!  SO good!  I love me some Eggs Benny, and I got just that!

This was our second year to join in on the St. Patty's Day party with the fam and it was a lot of fun as always!  We missed dad being with us, but we still made bets for him!  :P  

Blowing Bubbles!

We are so loving this weather!  R got out his scented bubbles the other day to play with!  Pretty fun...orange and grape!  =)

Life around here...

• We've been staying busy around here...but are thankful for a new change of pace for a little bit!  I am officially done subbing {insert sad face}, and have officially started May Intercession!  I've never taking a MI class before, but so far it hasn't been bad at all...and I keep telling myself it will be so nice in 2.5 weeks to have knocked a class out of the way!  WAHOO!

• We have been spending most of our evening outside between our backyard and my parents'.  R got this swing from Nana & Papaw for Christmas, and we just now got it hung up outside and he loves it!  It's a  great swing for lil guys!  =)

• I forgot to show y'all what R and KeeKee made for me for Mother's Day!  I LOVE IT!  I've never done his hand print on anything, so I am so thankful to have this, and in a cute frame at that! 

• I found the perfect place for it at my desk!  This truly is my little happy place--hoping to paint the walls this summer...we'll see!  :P

• R came home from Mimi's on Monday with a little turtle!  I was actually excited because I have always wanted a little turtle like this...and when I was in the 3rd grade I saved up my money to go buy one, and when we got to the pet store they told us they didn't sell them any more because they carried diseases.  I was distraught!--So now, I finally get to have my pet turtle! ;)
• I am loving this time of year with my little guy!  We are so blessed and I don't want to go a day without remembering that!  I pray that R grows up realizing how blessed he is as well!
• It's SEASON FINALE DAY for Grey's and Scandal!  WAHOO!  I'm going to try to be watching LIVE (but we'll see, cause that sadly never happens!)
