sleeping beauty

Ryder's class had a fun field trip to LR to see Sleeping Beauty at The Art Center!  I had never been there before, who seen/heard the story of Sleeping Beauty, so we were both in for a treat!  

The audience was full of kids b/c it was part of the "children's theatre".  The play only lasted an hour which was perfect for everybody.  Ryder doesn't really watch movies because there is always a bad guy in them...and he felt the same way at SB.  Wasn't a fan because of the "mean" fairy!  Ha!  

Sleeping Beauty came out to the lobby to see us after the play.  All of the girls were just SMITTEN with her...the boys, not so much!  All the other boys actually got their picture made with her, but not R! :P

Of course we had to throw a penny in the fountain and he told me that you HAVE to throw it over your head or your wish won't come true!  I have no idea where he gets these crazy things! ;)

Pick your battles.  You don't have to show up to every argument you're invited to.

mr al and the dentist

Last week R's school had a field trip to see Mr. Al.  We saw him last year, but he was back again this year for some more fun!  I took the day off to enjoy with little guy!

We had to park pretty far away and walk...but we still made it with plenty of time to spare!  Can you tell someone was EXCITED!?

Mr. Al knows how to have fun and these guys were up dancin' and havin' a good time!  They knew most of the songs because they sing them all at school!

Even though he was happy to be there, this is how he felt about taking a selfie with me! ;P

Afterwards we went to KeeKee's school and had lunch with her and her friends in the teacher's lounge.  R just indulged in some brownies...before his dentist appointment! ;)

We are so thankful for Ms. Kim!  This was his third time to see her...so neat because she's the only one who has ever cleaned my teeth!  

We had a good day together getting things done and spending time together!  Days like this are important, even as a working mom! 

Trip to Aunt Dean's

A few Saturday's ago, Aunt Kathy was in town visiting Aunt Dean, so Poppy & R made the trip up there to see them!  It was the Saturday before my last week of May Intercession, where I had a project due every day, so I stayed back, but was so glad R got to go!  They had a fun and busy day!

I have so many memories on these swings!  They haven't been out the past couple of years, and I thought something happened to them, but they just hadn't been taken out of storage from the winter months!  Glad R could help wash them up, so they could hang them and he can make some memories on the same swings as his Mama! ;)

I'm sad I didn't get to join in on the trip, but I'm glad my little man did!

Weekend Wrap Up

Last week, when it started to sleet and snow outside...I decided to take my son out for ice cream.  Sounds about right!  :P

Poppy took Ryder out for an adventurous day on Friday while I was out doing some shopping with Allie!  They went to a restaurant where a train delivers your food to you at your table!  This is R saying, "This is cooooool Poppy!"

Then they went to a fun little play place that has a grocery store, theatre, vet clinic, water table, sand table, inside play gym, etc. etc. and R just had a blast.  I've taken him before but it was seriously a LONG time ago!  He was just shy of two years old actually...you can see that post here.

& no Poppy trip would be complete without a trip to MooMoo's for some FroYo!  =)

I came home to my little man, and we enjoyed a nice, chill, relaxing Friday night at home together.  I worked on addressing some invitations for an upcoming shower and R played and watched a movie!  

Saturday morning we got up and around because I thought I had a work day at school on our big heart that we're building....well.  No one else was there, but one other girl.  :/  I don't know what happened...it was the Saturday after SB, and maybe people just forgot?!  I'll find out tomorrow in class though!  It felt good to be up and dressed and ready at 9:30 on a Saturday morning though...so we went and ran some errands!

Shoe store of course to get R some new Sperry's for Easter!  He loves this horse!  Funny thing...me and my brother used to get on the same horse every time we went to the shoe store when we were little!

Then we came home and R helped me stuff all of his old Easter eggs for his school party on Friday!  I loved that he was able to be involved!

Overall we had a great weekend--even though it was FRIGID out yesterday!  GEEZ LOUIS!  Back into the swing of things today though...always hard after a nice, long week off!

Monster Truck Rally

Last Saturday night we took R to the monster truck rally!  It really was a lot of fun...It was more of a competition than like a show, so we messed up on that part, but I'm glad R got to experience it! =)  You might be redneck if... ;)

Trip To The Shug!

This was our third year to take a little trip down to The Delta to visit some of our favorite people!  We always have spaghetti for dinner, and then go out to look at lights and get ice cream!--& that's exactly what we did this year!  It was super windy & cold this year, but R wanted his ice cream & of course Pooh delivered!  ;)

I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends I met in college that I still keep in touch with & am so thankful her family opens their home to not only me, but my little man as well!  =)

We followed Pooh back to LR & ate lunch together before she did some Chrsitmas shopping & we headed home.  The trip was short & sweet but it is always very memorable!  I hope it continues for years to come!

Trip to the Farm!

A couple of weeks ago, we headed out to Freckle Face Farm to stay with the kiddos (some of them...) while Naynee was out of town.  It was killer hott out, but we still had a good time inside!  We had minimal fights & arguments between children, ate a yummy dinner together & then had fun wondering the farm as the sun was going down!

As you can see, the day wore somebody out!  We had a great time & were happy to "help" Naynee out while she was gone!  Thank for days out on the farm away from this crazy "city-life!" ;)
