saturday lunch date

A few weekends ago, I knew it was going to be our last Saturday with "nothing" on our agenda.  R's T Ball games started up the following Saturday and would be every Saturday for the next seven weeks.

We call Saturdays, "Mommy/Ryder Day" and that's usually just what they are!  It's an easy way for R to know it's the one day a week we don't have to go to school or work at a certain time in the am!  He loves sleeping in just as much as me and I am so thankful!  =)
After getting up and getting ready we headed out for lunch at Pitza 4 2.  If you haven't heard of Pitza 4 2, it was started by two Ouachita grads from around here.  It has the same idea as TOMS, meal for meal.  So every meal that you purchase there to eat, you are also feeding a hungry child.
You might think this means it is expensive to eat there, but their meals are no more than any where else in town.  What started as pita pizzas (hence the name) has also turned into wraps, sandwiches, salads and soups.  I am currently in love with the wraps, where the "tortillas" are seasoned pita bread!  OMG--love them!

We enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio together and R love his pepperoni pitza!!

If you are ever in town and have the chance to stop by...you really should!  "Eat Good, Do Good!"

new trampoline park!

For unexplained reasons...I had to take off work today to keep R and tomorrow he is staying with his Mimi.  But I decided to make a fun day out of our day today and take advantage of all the big kids being in school and going to the new trampoline park!

We got an early lunch at Chick {duh!} and then headed to the Apple store to get my phone looked at.  I'm glad I took it in, because there were some software issues with that luckily they could fix!  Then we were off to the trampoline park and we basically had it to ourselves!  R had a blast and can't wait to go back!

Then...when it was time to go, I realized I had locked my keys in my car.  I ended up calling a locksmith and R got to jump for 30 extra minutes!  The locksmith was so nice and told me if I had full coverage car insurance, then I already "paid" for locksmiths and I just needed to give my insurance the receipt and they would pay me back--THAT sure did turn my day around and sure enough he was right!  Thankful for nice people who tell you things you (or your parents) didn't know!

And then.....we got stuck in traffic!  A bad accident right at a tricky part of the interstate.  Luckily R was already asleep by this point!  :P

This is about how I felt about the traffic...BUT--it just made me that much more thankful I don't have to make that commute everyday like SO many people!  PS--I also watched Mama Laughlin's new makeup tutortial while stuck in traffic, and let's just say it's rockin' and she's hilARRRR!!  Go watch.  NOW!  {& you might learn a thing or two like I did}

Date Night!

One day when it was raining last week, when I went to pick Ryder up from school they were inside (they are usually outside playing), and they were all taking turns getting to bowl.  Poor Ryder did NOT know what he was doing, but he was enjoying it so much and sweet boy was trying so hard!  I thought to myself, "Why haven't I taken that boy bowling?!"  I felt like a horrible mom!!  So, it was my mission that next weekend to take him bowling!

Sure enough on Friday afternoon when I picked him up I told him I was taking him some where and he said, "Where?  The bowling alley?!"  I knew he had been looking forward to it all week when I told him I would take him.  We went about 5 o'clock, and there were literally two other groups in there and no one else!  It was so nice!

Getting his shoes on, and oh so excited!!

Of course they gave him a super little ball from behind the counter, got him a stand to use, and we got the bumpers up for him!  ;)

He really wasn't a bad bowler...he loved that he had two chances to get them all...but he loved it even more when I missed!  Little booger!!  But he always cheered for me when I got a strike!  ;)

I asked him where he wanted to go eat afterwards...and he said exactly what I thought he would say--Panera!  Crazy kid!  He likes to sit in the window sill at one particular seat, and of course it was taken, but we made do!
PB&J for little bit, and tomato soup and macaroni and cheese (only the best!) for Mama!

It was a perfect little date night with my little man and I look forward to many more with him just like this!  I'm already trying to figure out when I can take him back to the bowling alley!
