lake house over spring break

We didn't have any major plans for Spring Break and were so excited when Pooh invited us to stay with her for a few days at her Lake House!--How can we say no to that?!  We love her, and we love the Lake House!

Shopping with these two...at 9 PM is a complete disaster.  

R and I enjoyed morning walks around the neighborhood (with coffee in hand of course!) almost every morning we were there!

My favorite thing to do was sit out on the deck, over looking the lake and doing my Quiet Time.  Since it was during LENT I had so much goodness to soak in while participating in She Reads Truth's "Near the Cross" study...(still want to do a full recap on that soon).

Pooh introduced someone to bomb pops!!

We decided to do something fishing...which basically turned into hanging out on the lake out in our lawn chairs and soaking up with sun.  

This is his, "I'm in time out for doing something cray like trying to get in the lake in my muck boots, and I'm not happy about it" face.  

One of my requirement for the week was to go to SCOOPS.  Success!!

Another morning walk...this time R asked me, "Why don't you ever run mom?  Is that something only men do?"  Yeah...that's why! ;)

He is definitely spoiled by Pooh.  McDonald's pancakes delivery!  

I think he enjoyed my hammock more than I did that week!  Great spot for playing his iPad! ;)

That turned into this...

We were so thankful for our time away from this crazy busy every day world called "life" to enjoy each other and everything God has blessed us with!  Thank you Pooh for your friendship!  

catfishin' with poppy

Ryder got to go catfishing for the first time a few weekends ago with Poppy.  They went to one of Poppy's childhood friend's house out of town and caught some big ones!  Some R couldn't even reel in himself!  They both got some sun and had a blast!

While I was away a few weekends ago...Poppy was on a mission to take R fishin!  Of course that required a trip to Bass Pro!

They went and spent the night with Nana and Papaw on the Little Red on Friday night. 

This was R's first time fishing in a boat!  They said it was fairly cool but they had a good morning!

R loves his Uncle G!

I'm so thankful that R gets the chance to do fun things like this at such a young age!

Ryder's first trip to the farm!

So last week about mid-week Poppy decided he wanted to take a trip down to the farm & to take R with him--& me of course...the photog!  ;)  So we got our bags packed & the outdoorsiest gear we have & loaded up the truck & headed down to the delta! =)

R fell asleep RIGHT before Poppy came & picked us up...

We stopped in the Shug for some ice cream & to see our fabulous friend Pooh & her parents!  Ryder was SO hyped up the whole time we were with them...but we all had a good visit!  =)

& after a trip to WM for some food & goodies...we still had an hour or so to go from there & Punkin' did great playing on the iPad...

We finally made it there & someone just made themselves at home of course!  I hadn't been in 10 years or so...& nothing really had changed!  Ha!  Dad was so glad to be there...he hadn't been since February because of his knee injury in March.

We finally got to bed around midnight & slept in the next morning, then got up & got around & headed to the Wild Goose for some crickets, and some yummy lunch!

Then Poppy took us on an adventure all over the place...& showed us a lot of cool places.

He asked me to take his picture & posed like that...ha!

We finally came home & all crashed for a little cat nap on the couch...& then it was finally time to go FITCHIN'!

& don't laugh...but all I wanted to do was see the alligator in the pond & I GOT TO!  I was so happy...Poppy spotted him the first time & then I kept an eye out for him the rest of the time.  These pics aren't the best, but he's out there.  It's not the larger thing you see on the right hand side of the pic...but just a ways up from the middle of the picture...just a little dash--that's his head!

& there he is again...the top dash, not the bottom--making his way along the pond!  AHH!!

We made it home after fishing, showered up, fixed some dinner & then I painted my finger & toe nails & we all just hung out!  We had a good ole time & I'm glad I got to experience R's first trip with him!  There will be many, many more trips to this wonderful place for my little man in the future as he grows up & I am so thankful for that!--Thankful for his Poppy, his Uncle & this wonderful place that they can all call "home" during hunting season.
