our labor day weekend

Now that we have all had a week and a few days to recover from the three day weekend, I can breath! ;)

Pooh asked us to come up to the lake with her for the weekend...even though it was Thursday night at like 11:30 PM, we said YES!!  and I'm so glad that we did!  =)

Traffic...on the Friday before Labor Day!  GEEZ!
As a thank you for always letting us come stay...I picked up some Maggie's Cookies.  You can't go wrong there! :P

Here are some flashbacks of R at the lake before we get to this year!

[2011-1.5 years old]

[2012-2.5 years old]

[2013-3.5 years old]

We are so blessed to have been able to go at least once a summer to have fun on Pawpa Rick's boat--and I hope the tradition continues!
Eating dinner out on the patio...quesedilla and grapes and blueberries of course!

For Labor Day weekend the lake was very calm!  I think it was because the weather man had called for it to rain AND the Razorbacks were playing!--GOOD for us!!
Look how cute they are together!  These two have way too much fun together!

We went to a local ice cream shop that makes their ice cream in house and it was seriously AMAZING!  I saw this poster there and just feel in love...and am so thankful that I have had someone to help me fall in love with this city!
We came home on Sunday and R was off to his dad's and Mimi's and I had a coffee date with Stuart and Jackson (my cousin and his friend)!  I am so glad they make the trip to town for coffee with me! ;)  I graded papers and they worked on some homework!

Ryder went out to ANOTHER lake with his dad and had a blast!!  How fun does that lilly pad look!  I wanna play!
...and he was out catfishin' as well!  Doing what boys do best!
I got him back on Monday and we had to stop at Targ to get me some coffee!!  DUH!  He also asked me to take his picture on top of the water!  Ha!
When we got back to KeeKee and Poppy's....Poppy had a surprise for Ryder waiting for him!  His first set of camo clothes to go DOVE HUNTING the next weekend!  You have NO idea how excited that little boy was!!!

What a fantastic and blessed weekend we had!

we heart weekends!

Fridays are always a fun treat because if R has been on green all week at school we make a stop by Maggie's on our way home!  =)

After a long week for us both...all we wanna do when we get home it lay on the couch & snuggle without a care in the world!  I think he enjoys it as much as I do!
Saturdays out on the town with Poppy...to get a hair cut and eat CFA for breakfast! =)
& do a little shoe shopping...

& then home for a little afternoon nap...these are memories I never want to forget.
We love lunch dates to Taziki's after church too!  =) & R loves his Poppy!

& we love running into Snuggle Bug friends at the park!  =)

Lil Update...

We had a pretty good weekend around here!  We have both been home the last two days because of a sick little guy, but we are finally turning a corner!
R stayed with my mom while I went to a friend's wedding on Saturday & he had taken a new game over there that he had gotten for his birthday.  He really struggled at first with being a sore loser--hence the face!  ;)  Mom finally taught him to be happy for other people when they win & not him...so now when people beat him he reaches out his hand and says "congratulations"!!  It seriously is the funniest thing...but I'm so proud he learned not to be a sore loser!  :P
Sweet boy after church!  He has to walk on these "towers" every Sunday!
I almost bought these even thought I don't even have a baby to put in them!  Ha!  Seriously PRECIOUS!
Well...somebody was asking for a tuba for Christmas, but I think it's an accordion now--which he might get!  ;)  He was marching around while playing it...too funny!
He headed out to the farm with his daddy for the day...poor baby looks scared to death right here!
I saw this blow up cat was out the other day & told R I would take him to see him soon!  Sunday after he got back from his dad's, we headed that way!  There was another blow up cat across the street whose head moved..& he was NOT a fan of that one!  So...we'll just stick to this one for now!
He went to bed a little hott & running a bit of a temp...sure enough...
I didn't go to school on Monday & took him straight to the Dr.  He was negative for strep but they treated it for him anyways because of how bad his throat looked.  Poor baby...telling me his "mouth" hurt... :(  I was gonna send him back to school on Tuesday after a round of meds...but I didn't feel 100% good about doing it come Tuesday morning so we stayed home another day together!
We took a nice, long, casual stroll through Kroger in the middle of the day...we didn't' have anything to do or any where to be so it was kinda nice!  He loves those little shopping carts!  He really was fine all day Tuesday, but I just felt better about keeping him home!  I think we both enjoyed it!  =)

But...I was ready to get back into the swing of things today!  I am a routine kinda girl & it has been thrown off all week!

Link Up...

I don't really have time to blog anything fancy, but wanted to Link Up over at Kelly's Korner for Show Us Your Life-Single Moms.  I know I'm on only 4 days late, but better now than never right!?

We had a pretty eventful weekend...all of which involved celebrating my mom's 50th birthday at dinner with family, taking her to lunch & to the nail place to have her toes done, her receiving a whopping 50 roses, that literally took 10 small vases to fill up...she didn't have one large enough, but they're beautiful, a beautiful wedding shower for one of my high school friend's bride-to-be, picking up my Rhea Lana check (woot woot)...oh, & locking my 2 year old in the car in the church parking lot before church, & the police having to come let him out.  Oh yeah...mom of THE year right here.

So...how was your weekend!  ;)

Weekend Recap

We had a nice chill weekend.  Some times I hate just staying about home with nothing to do, but it felt great to do so this weekend!  We didn't have one thing planned & I liked it that way!  =)

Friday night Ryder went to bed at 7:20 & I had some friends over to watch Crazy, Stupid, Love.  Wouldn't recommend the movie, but we had a good time.  I can say to see Ryan Gossling with his shirt off made it worth my time.  I pretty much felt the same was as Hannah did when he took it off.  Lol... {if you've seen the movie you know what I'm talking about.  I hate that word, but it seemed SO appropriate at that time!  :P}

We were being too loud & lil man woke up, played some ball with Mr. Zach & then laid back down!  He is just so sweet at night & wants to cuddle with his Mama & I LOVE it!

Saturday was such a chill day...I got the house all picked up & went & helped mom & dad do somethings around the house, road the four wheeler with Ryder & dad & just pretty much chilled & hung out.

He wore big boy underwear ALL day long.  I just stayed on top of him & asked him if he had to use the big boy potty every ten minutes!  He would usually say NO!  but then a few times he would say yes!  There were also a few times when he would just stop what he was doing, almost start to cry & say, "Wyder has to go PP" & ruuuuuuun to the bathroom!  I am just glad that he is realizing when he has to go & is going!  One step closer!  I put him in a diaper last night to go to bed & this morning he woke up COMPLETELY dry!

I love that Ryder looks forward to Sundays because he gets to go to church.  He literally jumps up & down when I tell him that we get to go to church in the morning after he "takes a nap" & wakes up.

When he hears my alarm go off in the morning he says, "Gooooood Morning!  Time to get up!"  I just love it so much!  He is so chipper & happy in the mornings, which makes me in a good mood too (because we ALL know I'm NOT a morning person!)

He was also singing his version of Jesus Loves Me this morning, "Jesus-I love me...." so sweet, but we're gonna have to work on the words!

We've (mainly I) got a busy two weeks ahead of us before Thanksgiving Break.  I have tests & papers, & my Holiday Scentsy party & I'm taking the Praxis this weekend, & going to the BOTR this weekend...& I'm getting my wisdom teeth out next week.  Nothing like having two different things removed from your body two Thanksgiving breaks in a row.

Weekly catch-all...

So...I survived the week!  I honestly thought I might not there for a few days!  I stayed up until 2 am EVERY night last week & was up & ready to go by 7!  I also got a nasty head cold on top of being tired, so THANK YOU Afrin for keeping me able to breath & I seriously sounded like a man there a few days!  Here are a few pics from our week...I have gotten to be terrible with my regular camera, so thank goodness for the good'ole iPhone!

Poor baby falls asleep EVERY night in his high chair.  This was Wednesday night, Pop Pops took him to the park where he wouldn't really eat much (DUH!) & then came home & took a bath while I was in class..so I was trying to feed him before bed time, but it didn't really happen!  :P

I love his lil coon skin hat!  He was "feeding" his giraffe grapes the other morning, WITH his hat on...pretty much BACKWARDS!  Never dull around here--THAT'S for sure!  =)

I have been on the hunt for a nice looking/not cheap looking fur vest.  EM had some GORGEOUS ones, but no way was I spending 88 dollars on a fur vest...I mean that's a new pair of jeans!  I have wanted one since last year, so I knew I was going to get me one this year!  I had some birthday money left over so of course I hit up TJ Maxx the other day before I had to go pick up lil butt from school & scored this Willie Smith fur vest for $39.99...& it SO totally doesn't look like "fake" fur ya know?  There are also some cute two-toned ones in the little girls section at Target for 24 dollars...b/c I could squeeze in the XXL!  Ha...so we'll see!  Do you have a fur vest?  How do you plan on wearing it?

Ryder is into "coloring"--look at the concentration on that face as he colors his coloring book with a pen!  This makes a mama happy!  =)

AND.....THIS MY FRIENDS!--is what it's ALLLLL about!  Tiger Tunes is THIS WEEKEND & I canNOT wait!  The clubs never disappoint, but I am excited about one show in particular!  "Where no WOman has Gone Before!"  I hope & know that it is going to be as great as I hear it is & can't wait to see so many "old" just good & sweet friends! =)

One more before I let you go...Ryder asks me to take his picture now sometimes!  He will bring me my phone, "put" something on thats "cuuuute" & say "take picture!"  This was one of those times...& he put the glasses on all by himself (hence the crooked-ness!)  :P

We had a much needed relaxing weekend.  I didn't get my Fall decor out, but that's okay!  There is always tomorrow!  Sometimes I just wish I could "do it all" & not be so tired afterwards...being a single mom wears me out sometimes, but I wouldn't trade having my lil booger for anything in the world!  =)
