meg's bridal shower {yellow & grey texan theme}

Last Saturday I was happy to be apart of showering one of my dear pledge sisters, Meg with wonderful blessings along side many other girls from my pledge class.  Meg lives in TX and we had girls come in from all over the state...so it was so nice to have all of us in one place for a few hours!

Meg loves the color yellow, as you will be able to see!  The invitations were yellow and grey as well with an attached recipe card.  As our RSVP, we were to fill the card out with our favorite recipe and mail it back to the hostess, and then she gave them all to Meg in a recipe box!  How fun!
Everything at Anna's house is always beautiful and perfect--her and her mom are the perfect little party planners!  I can't count how many showers we have had there and each one has been so different and perfect!  :P  This was a beautiful sit down luncheon.  We had chicken salad, rolls, yummy salad and coconut pie (yellow of course!).

 I love how all the plates were "different" yet still the same!
The little yellow roses were mints, homemade by one of the hostesses!
Sweet tea of course!  What southern shower doesn't have sweet tea?
The chicken salad had mandarin oranges in it, which was something I had never had before, but I LOVED it and will definitely have to find that recipe soon!
With one of my pledge sisters, Bethany and one of my dear friend's sister...Molly Anne!  LOVE them both!
One of the sweetest gifts all day!  Meg's grandma passed away recently and one of her cousins designed this Banana Pudding recipe of her grandma's and framed it!  This is one of Meg's favorite recipes of her grandma's.   I think it will look great hanging in her kitchen in her new home!
More of the Texas and yellow decor!

All of the EEEs at the shower!  PC 1979-2011 I'm pretty sure!  So much fun, and LOVE these girls!

Christmas-y Randoms!

I had a busy last week & an even BUSIER weekend!

Ryder had his last day of school before break on Thursday & I finally got to take his teacher's their Christmas gifts!  I love tumblers....y'all know that!  & I assume everyone else does too!  I got them Starbucks tumblers (& his director a coffee mug because they were out of tumblers) & got Starbucks gift cards to place in there & threw a bow on them!  I know I would be happy with this gift as a teacher & they were simple, yet fun & hopefully will be enjoyed!

I have been on the look out for the perfect "Christmas Story" book, but appropriate for Ryder's age.  & like always....TJ Maxx didn't let me down!  I saw this board book & flipped thru it & knew it was the perfect one!  I couldn't wait to get home & read it to my little man--& of course he soaked it ALL up just like I thought he would!  I seriously think 99% of his books are from TJ Maxx & I love it!  =)

...love maegan tweeted this the other day & I just LOVED her color scheme!  How unique!  Purple, blue & silver!  I snapped a screen shot of it so I would remember it for future Christmases.

Saturday evening I went to a childhood friend's wedding.  Justin & I grew up going to church together, & he is apart of so many of my youth trip memories!  He is such a great guy & Sydney definitely found the perfect guy!  Their wedding was beautiful & I absolutely FELL IN LOVE with her dress!  It was just as beautiful as her!  =)

Me & the Groom himself!  =)

Funny story:  I ran into one of my brother's good friends that he met at camp in probably 3rd grade from Stuttgart at the reception!  I was like "What are you doing here?!"  Her sister is actually roommates with the bride's little sister...so that's why they were there!  I got to meet their mom & it was nice to sit & visit with them! --& this is just another reason I believe in six degrees! ;)

After that I went straight to my pledge class' Christmas party!  I was so glad to see so many of my pledge sisters that I don't always get to see through out the year!  The food was delicious & Anna was a FAN-TAS-TIC host!--AS ALWAYS!  We did an ornament exchange (dirty santa style) & these are two ornaments that I got stolen--because they were SO CUTE!

It's okay though...because I ended up with a super fun one that Ryder LOVES!

I still can't believe it is the WEEK of Christmas!  Where has the time gone!  Oh my word!  I am so looking forward to this Christmas because Ryder is old enough to "get it" & actually open presents & say thank you & participate in all the craziness!  He is also old enough to understand that we are celebrating Jesus' birthday & that we can even have cupcakes & "wick them" to celebrate!  More than anything, I want him to grow up knowing the true meaning of Christmas & I have started that this year, & will continue to teach him the importance as he grows...& I can't wait!  =)

Battle of the Ravine

Last weekend I got to take Punkin' to his first OBU football game to watch Casey play!  It worked out where Pooh came & stayed with us Friday night, I got up early & went to take my Praxis in LR Saturday morning, Pooh watched R & then they meet me in LR & we headed to the game!  I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends that help me out when I need it!  Here are a few pics from our day with friends!

We had a great time & the weather was GREAT!  Sadly, we lost to the whole Reddies, but it was still a wonderful day with friends!

Monday (turned Friday) randoms...

So...this post was started on Monday & yeah, I'm just now getting around to finishing it.  I don't even remember opening my computer this week really.  What have I done all week?  I don't really know.  I know I didn't watch any of my TV shows...I guess I just spent time studying, & all taking care of all my mommy/housey duties & going to class!  Only three more days of class till Fall Break-WAHOO!  =)

Nothing significant...just a few randoms from last week & weekend!

{i love this sweet pic...he is SO long!!}

{While shopping for something purple to wear to OBU homecoming, I ran across this shirt at TJ Maxx & it REALLY is perfect for the gold & purple OBU Tigers...lol.  I text Kelly a picture as a TOTAL joke & she responded with "Oh, cute...very different, but cute!"  I literally LOLed while standing in the store!  Needless to say...I didn't buy the shirt for homecoming!  :P}

{I loved this little wood sign for Christmas--I am bound to not buy ANY new Christmas decor this year because I already have more stuff than my house has room for, I don't have any more room to store my stuff the other 11 months out of the year & I just don't need any more decor!  I'd rather spend money on my family & friends!  BUT...I might try & make this with my silhouette!}

{FIIINNALLLY got Ryder's THIRD backpack & matching lunch box in the mail this week!  We had a PB one & matching lunch box, it broke.  Sent it back ordered a new color of matching backpack & lunch box.  Got the backpack in the mail & was waiting on the lunchbox when 2 weeks later I get an e mail saying the lunch box is out of stock & no more will be made.  So I was stuck with a backpack that I couldn't get a matching lunch box for!  AHH!  So I turned to Land's End instead & am COMPLETELY happy with their products so far!  Also...everything was 60% off because it's practically the middle of the school year!  :P  Phew...glad I got that out there!}

{A new yogurt place opened up here last week & they were having a completely free night, so I took my sweet boy last Thursday before we went to AntiochNOW & they had this miniature couch perfect for lil man!  He was having TOO much fun!}

{We ran by Allison' house on Sunday evening to see her beautiful new car that Ryder just hopped right in & acted like he owned the place...& to give her her Scentsy! }

{Ryder also took a ride on her dad's old metal tractor!  He was just his size!}

{Here's a pic I stole off of FB of the girls from PC '08 that were at the Homecoming Tea!  So good to see all of them & be reunited}

{I pinned these the other day & am going to HAVE to make them for Tonya & Allie's wedding or bachey parties!  How fun!?}

{I'm not ashamed to admit that I can't wait for his Christmas album to come out!  YAAAAY!!  Oh man, he just gets finer the older he gets!}

{& here's a sweet one of my lil man being sweet one morning before school!}

I hope y'all have had a good week & HAPPY FRIDAY!  =)

OBU Homecoming!

Friday night my mom was judging Tiger Tunes, so me & my brother, my roommate Mary Beth & a good friend of mine Nick went down with her to watch the show!  We had front row balcony seats because she was judging choreography--& I honestly like the balcony the best!

The show was great & I really enjoyed it...& the EEE's won EVERYTHING that night!  I was so proud!  I love their costumes the most, but the whole show was FAB-U-LOUS & like super perfect!

I spent the night with Allie that night at her parent's house & we literally stayed up till 3 AM talking & catching up!  I haven't seen her since she moved to B-ham 2 months ago, so it was a much needed catch up!  & I had to catch up on all the wedding stuff, because the MOH needs to be in the know about everything!  ;)

The EEE tea was the next morning so we got up & around after only a few hours of sleep to go see all of our EEE sisters!  =)  We are all spread out now across the state & south & it's pretty sad, so it was SO great to get to see everyone on this special day at such a special place!
{with allie!}
{with the other Katie in the PC!}
{with Ms. Turner--so good to see her & her sweet mom & lil sis!}
{Meg!  such a sweet little friend!}
{& this is Brittney who I have just recently become "friends" with over the past few months via blogging & Twitter--the OBU connection will do that to people!  She was a Tri Chi with two of my best friends, Kelly & Pooh}
{so glad I ran into this crazy--Pooh!}

I got to see so many other friends, but failed to take any pictures...I am mad that this is all I got.  :(  After the tea we went out to eat at a lil Mexican place where everyone else at Homecoming decided to go eat too.  I went back to Allie's for a bit & then headed home to get my sweet little boy who I was missing so much!  He probably didn't even notice I was gone though!  I had a killer headache that day too, which added to me needed to get back home!

I had a great time & am so thankful for such a sweet family willing to keep my little man so I can get away for a little bit to see my friends!

& because I love looking back & reminiscing...some pictures from my past tunes & homecomings!

 {2008-EEE Carhops}
 {killing time between shows}
 {with one of my favorite TC sailors & my favorite Rho Sig Fireman!}
 {At the EEE Tea with Whitney--our moms were EEE's together & our dads were Betas together, roommates & both baseball players!}
 {Me & Allie at lunch with our two favorite TCs--Pooh & Kelly}

{2009-Ryder was exactly one month old}
{2010 with the Ring By Spring show}

I LOVE tunes...I mean who doesn't?  I'm already looking forward to next year!  & one day I'll be taking my wild man with me!
