Ryder-isms

Just a few things crazy boy has been doing/saying lately that I want to remember!  =)

  • We were in our bathroom one day & I said something along the lines of a "bathroom" & he said, "This isn't a restroom is it?"  & I said, "Yes honey it is...restroom & bathrooms are the same thing...but people may call them different things."  He said, "No they're not...restrooms are like at Target, & bathrooms are like at  our house."  Well...come to think of it two year old--your EXACTLY right!
  • I had a homework assignment due one night, & he wanted me to watch TV with him & I just nicely told him, "Let mommy finish her homework so that I can be a teacher okay?"  He just started to cry & said, "I don't want you to be a teacherrrrr!  I want you to be a Mommmmmy!!" I told him that I could be both a mommy & a teacher & he was perfectly okay with that!  ;)
  • When we go to Target & Kroger, he always wants the big go carts that have the trucks on the end, of the ones with little plastic seats connected to the part you push...I always have to tell him those are for mommies with two babies & I only have one baby so I don't want to take up one if someone else needs it.  He just looked at me & said, "Do you want two babies?"  & I told him, "That yes, one day I would like to have two babies..."  So..for the rest of our shopping trip at Target, he told everyone we saw that I wanted to have two babies.  Quite embarrassing.
  • I don't particularly like him to use the word "hate" but the other night he used it & I didn't get on to him!  :P  He told me that he HATED mosquito bites!  I told him that that was okay, because I do too!  ;)
  • He has a little kick board that he loved to play with in the swimming pool.  He kept calling it his "list" the day we got it & I didn't quite understand why...but sometimes as a parent, you just have to go with it until you figure out what their talking about!  Finally..it hit me!  He was calling it his "list" because it looked like the ten commandments--pretty much a "list"!  Ha!
  • When we went & got his hair cut last week, he was telling Ms. Jennifer what tool she needed to use next on his hair & how to use it (the little razor/thiner thing...& the electric razor on his neck, & when he needed to hold the mirror etc.) & he was actually RIGHT!  I was DYING!
Needless to say...I have a lot to learn from my sweet boy & he is seriously ALWAYS keeping me on my toes!!--BUT...I LOVE IT!  =)

Homemade Dishwashing Detergent-SUCCESS!

My mom has recently made her own laundry detergent & it was definitely a success...& I was about to run out of dishwashing detergent, so I thought, "Why not try & make my own?"  Of course I got this recipe off of Pinterest, originally from here.

I got all the items at Wal Mart for less than 4 dollars each.  NOT too bad if you ask me.  The Borax, Super Washing Soda & Lemi Shine are all on your regular dishwashing detergent aisle.  I found the Kosher salt in the spice aisle.

{Ingredients:}

2 cups of Borax

2 cups of Washing Soda

2 cups of Lemi Shine
 (I realized this after making it home...I should have bought two bottles to have enough for 2 cups, so brab two!  & the powder kind, not liquid!)

1 cups of Kosher salt

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.  Leave it out over time & it will start to harden, but continue to stir & break up every couple of hours or so.  I did this for a couple of days & then put it all in a zip lock bag, but plan on getting a glass canister to put it in to go under my sink.

It only takes 1 TBS. per load, but I used two my first time & it was more than enough.

I would definitely say my dishes came out super clean & the glass was even sparkling a bit!  I have TONS of supplies left (besides the Lemi Shine), but I am very happy with how it all turned out!

Project 365...Week 30

{July 22}
 I've said it before & I'll say it again...nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby!  This was after he spend the day with his dad out at Mimi & Pawpaw's house!

{July 23}
 We love gymnastics!  His friend Jordyn!

{July 24}
Mimi got R this bike at a garage sale & it has been a HIT!  The tricycle was getting a bit too small so this has been perfect!

 {July 25}
 We went out to Freckle Face Farm for a few days & had fun with all the cousins!  We made our way around the farm one night while it wasn't too hott out!  R loved all the cows, chickens & pigs!  {More pics to come}

{July 26}
 & look what lil mister found out at the farm--he knew exactly what to do with it!

{July 27}
 R got his first icee at Target while school supply shopping!  He loved it!  He has gotten to be so, so SO good while we are out & about...he walks right beside me & keeps me having to get on to him to the minimal!  It makes me so proud!

{July 28}
We only have on TV in our house...that's how it was for me growing up & it's how I plan on it being with R growing up {unless he has like a playroom/game room later on}, but with the Olympics on how ever many hours a day, being selfish, I knew I couldn't miss it because we were watching Blue Clue's & Yo Gabba Gabba all night!  Ha!  So I pulled this old TV out of a closet & plugged in in for R in the extra room!  It has been a HUGE hit & it may or may not stay there after the Olympics!  :P

July Product Love

I don't have a lot this month...but did want to touch on some new & old things & products that I love & continue to love!  I would love to hear from my readers on things that y'all are loving right now!  Feel free to do a similar post & leave your blog in the comments below!  I'd love to try some new things if you have an suggestions for everyday life!  =)

I have been using these in class to take notes, for well over a year now & will NOT take notes in anything else!  I am not one to usually like "cheap" pens, but I hate to waste good pens for taking notes for CLASS--& you can get this entire package for $1!  Not even kidding!  What I like most about these pens is how dark and fat they write...no other cheap pen really compares for me!  My last two from my first package ran out during summer school & I was SO sad!--I finally got some more at Target earlier this week for the upcoming school year!

I bought this a while back--& I chose Rimmel because of the flat brush & the price.  I have been MORE than satisfied with the product...and a top coat definitely makes a difference on how long your polish stays on!  It's like a gell-y coat on top that kinda dries like shellac which I love.

My mom bought these a while back when she was making her own laundry detergent & while we were at the beach, she used it wash to wash some of our clothes & OMG--it made our clothes smell SOOO good, I knew I had to get some when I got home!!  So I got some & I have been sniffin' our clothes & sheets every since!  It makes laundry just a liiiiiittle bit more enjoyable!  ;)

I have used Secret DO for as long as I can remember, & one day when I needed new DO, I saw some Dove on sale--like 3 for the price of one, so I was like why not?--Well...after a week or so, I just knew it wasn't doing the job...but I had three whole things left to use!  So I stuck it out as long as I could...because I didn't want to be wasteful!  But I'm happy to announce I am back to my good'ole Secret!  =)  I used to use Pear, but didn't see it any more, but I love this cucumber just as much!  It stays on all day & I can even smell it throughout the day, which means...IT'S WORKING!  ;)  If you're looking for a new DO, this one just might be for you!  ;)  Moral of the story--stick with what you know & don't try & fix something that isn't broken!
