Raving Customer Chick Dinner

Last week I got an invitation to attend a Chick event for "Raving Customers" AKA--we go there too much.  Ha!  I wasn't sure whether to be embarrassed about this invitation or to be excited about it!  :P  The COO Dan Cathy (Truett Cathy's son) was going to be speaking, and FREE CFA food...so we were going!  My parents already had tickets to a concert in town, so it was just me and R!

Everything was perfect and semi-over the top...which I don't know why I was expecting anything less from CFA!  ;)  We were waited on hand and foot, everything was seriously perfect and of course everyone was so overly nice to you--it almost felt like you were in Disney World!  Even Dan Cathy himself was out serving people there food--and that's exactly how CFA people are!

They told everybody to go in and to fill up the front of the room first...so that's exactly what we did!  We were smack dab at the front of the room, at the front of the table.
And...what do ya know.  Dan Cathy himself comes and sits down right beside Ryder.  I just keep praying silently, "Do not let my son spill his sweet tea with no lid on Dan Cathy.  Do not let my son spill his sweet tea with no lid on Dan Cathy...."
Oh ya know...just hanging out with Dan Cathy, generation 2 of CFA...NO BIG DEAL!  :P
There were lots of BIG cows, and then there was this sweet little girl cow R was obsessed with!  She was really sweet!  R kept wanting me to go dance with him and her on stage...but I tried to tell him Mommies can't dance on stage!  Ha!  :P
We learned a lot about CFA and their plans for the future which are really exciting!  We all got cows, cowbells, megaphones, a book written by Truett Cathy, free sandwich coupons, CFA pens, and a gourmet cookie to take home with us!

Getting our book signed and picture taken before headed out the door!  Such a nice guy, and I can't wait to hopefully visit the corporate office in Atlanta sometime soon!
R and the sweet girl cow again!  :P  He just likes those ladies!
Such a fun night I got to share with my lil man...even though we didn't get home till 10:30, it was well worth it!  =)  I will forever be a fan and frequent CFA purchaser as long as I'm around!  ;)

Easter 2013

Our church is currently adding on to our sanctuary, so we have been meeting in our activity center the passed month or so, and that definitely wasn't going to be enough room for our Easter services, so we met in the High School auditorium....but that also meant no childcare (not that R goes to the nursery anyways)...so I am not ashamed to say we took the iPad to church for lil man to play with.

It was a beautiful service, as always and Bro. Jason NEVER disappoints on Easter--or any Sunday for that matter!  R did great...I was impressed!

Ever since he has started to go to school full time, he hasn't really been all about going to his Sunday school class on Sundays...and I assume it's just because it's one more time to be away from me and I mean he's with his friends at school ALL day!  But I am happy to say he behaves very well in big church and actually listens to the sermon sometimes and talks to me all about it afterwards, so that makes a Mama's heart happy.

The Easter Bunny stopped by at KeeKee & Poppy's house!  My mug matches my kitchen & I love the verse on it!  The Little Rascals was one of me and Uncle G's favorite movies growing up, so KeeKee urrggghh...The Easter Bunny snagged it for R when she saw it on DVD!  ;)

Oh...you know...just trying to get the perfect picture.  Yeah, that never happens.

We were finally headed out the door to Nana & Papaw's for the afternoon which is always fun!
Helping Karleigh fill up some more eggs with tattoos...

{bad mom....I forgot his Easter basket, so he had to use my lunch box, but he didn't mind!}

The number of cousins who hung eggs has drastically gotten smaller over the years...I guess that's just part of it!
& this is what happens when a sweet boy has had a wild afternoon and no nap!  We took him to his Mimi's on the way home so he could spend the night with her and Pawpaw which is one of his favorite things to do every week!
I wrapped up my #shereadstruth study on The Holy Week that night.  I can't express how blessed I was by this study.  You can read more about my experience HERE.

What a special day with family.  I never want to take an Easter for granted.  If it weren't for our risen savior, we wouldn't be here today.  Thank you Lord!

Snuggle Bug Easter Party!

On Good Friday--Ryder had his Easter party at Snuggle Bug!  It was quite rainy and wet, so they just hid all the eggs in the front yard instead of in the back...but it was still a blast!  Mr. Jerry cooked his yummy BBQ and baked beans and everybody else brought the fixens!  It's always so fun to see R with all of his friends, and have their parents all around as well!  Mimi & Aunt Rhonda joined us and R had lots of fun, as always!

He wasn't all too interested in getting more eggs...just eating the candy out of the ones he already had!  Ha!
 R loves his Mimi!  =)
He said this Easter Bunny was different because "it was a person inside.  And...at the mall, it's not a person."  He cracks me up!
I love this picture--it's a genuine, true, non-forced smile!
 Eating dinner with his friends!

After the party, we came home to dye Easter eggs.  He told me "Dye, just liked Jesus died on the cross"....try explaining the different meanings of one word (especially that word) to a three year old.  Sheeesh!
R loved it of course!  Even though our eggs didn't turn out that great...it was still fun!

We are so blessed by Snuggle Bug and all the wonderful kids and families and so thankful that we get to be apart of such a wonderful place!

Some random Ryder stories...

Just some random "Ryder-isms" for ya...and for me that I want to remember!  =)

  • He put my glasses on the other morning and looked around and said, "These make everything fuzzy and big and in my face!"  Well yes son...
  • Driving down the street where this is a lot of construction and a lot of curves, and some new widened roads, that aren't drivable yet...he said, "We can only go down the right side of the road, right mom?"  Pretty impressed that he noticed we were always on the right side!  :P
  • He was throwing fits the other night at my parents house for some reason and I have been trying to get him to realize that throwing a fit doesn't get him any where and doesn't accomplish anything.  So after the second fit, I was talking to him and said, "What did you accomplish by throwing those fits?" And he looked up at me and said, "I accomplished being a bad boy."  I had to walk out of the room to hide my laugh...
  • Over Spring Break, he seemed to lose his manners!  Like seriously...and I kept telling him, "You better find your manners before you go back to school!"  Well...he was at his Mimi's last night and she asked him something and he politely said, "No mam."  And then he looked up at Mimi and said, "Mimi!  My manners came back...I knew they would!!"
He is seriously always cracking me up and teaching me new things!  I love him to pieces and can't wait to watch him grow into who he is supposed to be!

Product Love... {March}

It's been a while since I have done some "Product Love" but I always love doing it...so here some of my favorites from the month of March!  I know I am always looking for new stuff to try, and I figure my readers are too!

I fell in love with NIVEA products a while back and when wanted some sun on my legs without the cost of a spray tan and time and dangerous-ness of a tanning bed...I settled for this stuff!  I have really enjoyed it and it's great to use for 3-4 prior to upcoming events (like Easter!)...I just use it on my legs, arms and neck and it definitely gets the job done before those Summer months!  It's about $10 at Walgreens, and I haven't been able to find it at Kroger or WM...

I put my make up on in my car in the parking lot at school on days I get up late.  One day I realized I had left my foundation sitting on my bathroom counter from the day before...so I ran in Walgreens to grab some more instead of having to go all the way back home.  This is what I went with...and I am so thankful I left my other foundation at home that day because I seriously LOVE this stuff!  It is creamy and goes on sooo smooth, yet it dries like a powder!  I still use a translucent powder over it, but I don't plan on changing foundations any time soon...it is a great drug store foundation, especially for a $9 price tag!

I am all about a good highlighter...I found this at Sephora and was anxious to try it.  It's a cream stick, but dries like powder as well.  I don't use it every day, but it definitely adds a special touch to your check bones and nose--where the sun would hit you.  I think it will look even more fabulous in the summer.  I don't even use the stick to apply it, but just my finger.  Long lasting finish and the perfect color/shade of shimmer!  $30 at Ulta, Sephora or benefit.

I love all CO Bigelow products from B&BW, but this is by far the best!  It is actually on sale for $5 right now (regularly $7.50).  I have to have it on every night when I go to bed, and I usually wake up with it still on my lips.  My lips are constantly peeling and are very dry, but not with this stuff!  Highly recommend it, and I'm about to stock up since it's on sale!

You can see all my previous Produce Love posts HERE.

What are some of your favorite new products this Spring?!  I'd love for you to share!
