31 day blog challenge...day 11

Day 11:  Last book you read.

Sadly, the last thing I've read for fun was The Hunger Games series.  Catching Fire was my absolute favorite, and MockingJay was a complete waste of  my time!  Ha--if you've read it, you know what I mean!--Kind of how I felt at the end of LOST.  Can something really be that good?  & then BOOM, it's over and you're still like WHAAT??

Anyways..I've started a few different books since then, but I honestly just don't have time to pleasure read right now because I have so many other things that I have to be reading for school...ya know all those expensive textbooks you pay for, to learn from, and take tests over...?  Yeah...those.  :/

I hope you've read something a little more interesting lately than me!  I know there are SO many good books out there...but maybe one day I'll be able to read them!  =)

31 day blog challenge...day 10

Day 10:  Daily routine
My week days aren't all the same.  Tuesday/Thursday I go to school all day, and Monday, Wednesday, Friday I am usually substitute teaching...so they are always a bit different...but here is a typical sub day for me!

5:55-6:10-Alarm goes off, and continues to go off, and I'm asking myself, "Is it really already time to get up??  Geeezz"

6:10-Roll outta bed to go start my pot of coffee if I hadn't set it up the night before.
I leave this angel sound asleep in bed...
I always have to have some music going to get me up & running!
6:15-6:30-I straighten my hair and put my make up on...

...& enjoying my cup of joe!  If R hasn't woken up by 6:30 I usually go in there to wake him up & turn the TV on for him to watch.

6:30-I find something to wear for the day...& get dressed for the day.
6:40-I am getting R's clothes ready (he likes them warmed up in the dryer! Ha!) & throwing my lunch together.  This is usually what it consists of...

6:50-Getting R dressed, teeth brushed, and hair fixed & all his "friends" to take to school--usually just blanky & Tang.

7-We HAVE to be out the door by 7!  I drive R across town to his school.  We talk about being kind to his friends, having a nice heart and walking away from people when they are mean or ugly.  Sometimes I pray with him for him to have a good day.

7:15-Get to his school, take him and his "friends" in, wash his hands so he can get a sticker, sign him in, hang his jacket up, put his "friends" up in his cubbie, talk to some of his little friends that greet me, hug and kiss him good-bye and I'm out the door.
7:45-I usually get to the school I'm subbing at around this time.  Go to the office, sign in, get my name tag and head to the classroom I'm in for the day.
7:55-8:10-Get comfortable and read over what I'll be doing for the day.  Write my name and instructions for students up on the board and wait for them to arrive.

8:15-3:15-teach, teach, teach!  With lunch in between, whenever that may be depending on the grade I'm in.

3:15-Bell rings & I'm usually out the door....headed to get my little man!!
Fight school traffic all the way there...
3:45-Arrive at Ryder's school, go in and get him and all his stuff from the day, sign him out, let him say good bye to all of his friends, and we're out the door!  So glad to get my little guy back and ready to hear all about his day!

We usually stop at Sonic for Happy Hour, but this particular day we had a haircut back on the opposite side of town that I just came from....so we rush back over there as soon as we can!
4:30-We are usually home by now, but today it's haircut time!  R loves getting his haircut and especially by Ms. Jennifer!  She has always done a great job...R is always asking me when his next appointment it!  Ha!

4:55-Leaving the haircut place & I asked R where he wanted to go & he said, "The place with the little shopping carts"--so off to Kroger we went!

They let you make your own cupcakes, so I let him pick one out and we sat and ate it at the deli section!  We had a blast!

5:30-Head home...and load everything up and out of the car.  R usually plays toys and/or watches TV while I do laundry, empty the dishwasher, pick up, etc. etc.

6:30-Usually eat dinner here or head over to my parents to eat with them.

7:45-Head home and start to get R's bath ready

8:20-Bath time is usually over.  I get R in his PJs, we watch some TV together, read a book, talk about life, etc.

8:50-Tell R goodnight and tuck him in.  I finally have the chance to get started on school work.  If it's not a school night for me, I usually watch a week old DVR'd TV show or read for class...

9:30-I usually take a shower, so my hair will have time to air dry a little bit before I go to bed...

10:30-11-I am usually headed to bed.  I will do my #shereadstruth quiet time then {even though I really want to start doing it in the mornings!!}, set my alarm, and close my eyes & prepare myself to do it all over again in the am!

31 day blog challenge...day 8

Day 8:  Biggest pet peeve

Oh geez...there could be a lot!  :P  Actually, only two!
  • First and foremost...when people tear paper--computer paper, notebook paper, toilet paper, paper towels, cardboard...ANY kind of paper.  Hurts my ears like no OTHER.  {Similar to some people not liking the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard.}
  • People not knowing how to properly use a roundabout.  NO--A YEILD SIGN DOES NOT MEAN STOP.

It's not too late to start the blog challenge!  Hope on over to Fabulous Finds By Tiffany!

31 day blog challenge...day 7

Day 7:  What's your dream job?

In all honestly I think I am going to actually live out my dream job, by being a middle school teacher one day {sooner than I realize}!  I realize more and more each day that I am in the right place, and going to actually be someone who is happy with their job and their career choice.

There are a few other "jobs" I might have interest in doing, but not for a solid income...

  • Helping woman design/put together nurseries...including picking stuff out, purchases, painting furniture, making different things for the room, etc. etc.
  • Graphic design...this still might be something I learn how to do...one day!  ;)
  • Helping people throw mediocre-sized parties...this is something I've grown to enjoy since Ryder's first birthday party.  I love to be on the look out for things to use, foods to include, things to craft, themes, colors etc. etc. whether it be for a 50th birthday party, baby shower, or bachelorette party!  Maybe one day--or I can just enjoy doing the parties I am throwing!

31 day blog challenge...day 6

Day 6:  Your last random act of kindness?

My last random act of kindness (that I vividly remember) was a couple of weeks ago in the line at Starbucks.  The person in front of me had paid for mine, so I paid for the person's behind me!  Pretty simple, but it made me feel good!  =)

31 day blog challenge...day 5

Day 5:  Favorite movies you never get sick of watching

These are pretty cliche too...but that's okay!  =)

  • Of course The Notebook.  Hands down, #1 favorite.
  • Italian Job with Marky-Mark & Charlize.  Swoon.
  • I'm pretty fond of The Lucky One as well...can you really go wrong with a Nicholas Sparks movie?  Oh, wait...yes you can!  (Dear John)

I think that's about it!  What are some of your favorite movies you could watch over and over again?!

31 day blog challenge...day 4

Day 4:  Best childhood memory

I have a few random ones I want to share...nothing too special, just great memories.

  • Going to my great aunt and uncles' house out in the middle of know where with my cousin Tonya and getting to sleep under the pullout couch in the living room...making our own "tents"
  • My family's vacation to St. Louis in the 3rd-ish grade?  We went to a 17 inning Cardinals game, went up in the arch, St. Louis Children's Museum, and ate on a McDonald's boat.  For some reason...very memorable!
  • Getting ice cream at my Nana's when we were little, each grandkid would get the number of cherries in their bowl plus one!  So fun because I was always the oldest!  :P
  • Going down to the farm with my dad and brother and our friends during the summer to ride four wheelers and fish, and "rough it" for a couple of days.
  • My dad taking us to monster truck rallies, rodeos etc. just to expose us to different things!  So thankful!

That's about it...told ya it wasn't too excited, but it's my most vivid and thankful memories growing up! =)

31 day blog challenge...day 3

Day 3:  What makes you happy?

This is going to be so cliche for any mom...but...it's the truth!  & if you're not a mom, then one day you will understand...I promise!

  • Seeing Ryder SO excited about something--even if it's just a new pack of gum, or telling him that we are going to the bowling ally, or the park, or that we're about to go see his KeeKee!  Seeing happiness in children is such an exciting thing!
  • When people do something unexpected for me...
  • Watching and hearing Ryder soak things up like a sponge!  I seriously only have to tell him things once and he will remember it for good!  I really have to be careful about what I say!
  • Being in the classroom with students and finally seeing them "get it"--when that light bulb goes off in their head and everything you have been trying to teach them finally makes sense to them.  Happiness for a teacher!
  • When Ryder yells "Mooooooom!!!!" & I'm like OMG, "WHATTTTT?" & he says, "I love you mom."  #meltmyheart
  • When people tell me I'm a good mom.  This might sound like bragging, but it's not.  All moms doubt themselves at times, and even though I know I'm not perfect, it is nice to hear someone say I'm doing a good job every once and while.
  • Getting out of bed and knowing my morning coffee is waiting on me!
  • Finding something I've been wanting/looking for--ON SALE!!
  • Being able to say "less than a year" when people ask me when I'm going to be done with school!  ECCCKK!!

31 day blog challenge...day 2

Day 2:  Favorite quote(s)

I have way to many!  I have a whole word document full that I've been adding to for close to 10 years.  I also have a journal I write a lot of my favorite in.  I'll just share a few that currently relate to my life...these aren't things I ran to Pinterest to find, these are quotes that have impacted and encouraged me throughout my life, whether that be now or years ago...They were good then, and they're good now!  ENJOY!  ;)

  • Missing someone is part of loving them.  If you're never apart, you'll never really know how strong your love for them truly is.

  • Hate is easy; love takes courage.

  • A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a long & realize how blessed you are.

  • Many of the adventures you go on will not make sense to other people because the outcome is unknown.  But journeys where the outcome is already known are not adventures, they're errands.  And you were not created to run errands, you were crated to do more than run errands.

  • Lack of planning on YOUR part, does not constitute an emergency on MY part.

  • Worrying implies that we don't quite trust that God is BIG enough, POWERFUL enough, or LOVING enough to take care of us & our lives....{woah-->let that hit you like a ton of bricks!  One of my faves right now!}

What are some of your favorite quotes?

31 day blog challenge...day 1

I'm trying something new!  I am doing a 31 day blogging challenge!  I honestly saw it on IG and thought it looked like something fun and interesting to do, so I decided to take part!  I may not do it everyday but I am most definitely going to try, because I want to!  =)  It is hosted by Fabulous Finds By Tiffany & feel free to join in!

This may be boring to some, but I know I'll be glad I did it one day...and you might learn a thing or two about me in the process!  =)  I miss writing like I used to, so this will be good for me!

Day 1:  self-portrait & 5 random facts about me!

1. I am the oldest grandchild on both sides of the family!  A bit spoiled before all the other cousins came along!  :P

2. I was originally a graphic design major before switching to middle level education.

3.  I like my creamer with a little bit of coffee.  I'm working on reversing this though.

4.  I only let myself eat Taco Bell if it's after midnight...because it just "feels right"--& the later it is, the worse it is for you I know...dumb!

5.  Me & my friends changed our HS marque sign once.  We stole gathered all the letters we needed from other marques around town to say what we wanted to say, and changed it in the middle of the night....It sounds dumb now, but we had a blast doing it!  =)

I'm linking up over at Fabulous Find by Tiffany!
