Project 365...Week 15

{April 8}
Easter morning & afternoon...all Punkin' ate all day was candy & apple dumplins and ice cream!  Ha!

{April 9}
Sometimes we go play at KeeKee & Poppy's before they get home from work just for a change of scenery, and R found Poppy's bicycle stash!  Gloves, helmet & tire pump!

{April 10}
R got tattoos in some of his Easter eggs, and he got his first tattoo today!  & I'll let the Jeff Long picture speak for itself, as long as you don't live under a rock, you KNOW what I mean!  ;)

{April 11}
Wild child on his "tryc" with his 3D glasses...ha!

{April 12}
He will never be too old to fall asleep in my arms...

{April 13}
I am usually his "bestie" but this day he told me "Woody & Buzz are my besties..."  I guess I'll take it!  ;)

{April 14}
Perfect Saturday night playing outside enjoying the beautiful weather with my main man!  =)

Project 365...Week 14

{April 1}
This is AZ.  I would consider her Ryder's "first girlfriend" or "first kiss".  We met her and her family at Gymnastics last summer & they literally fell in love!  They would kiss & hug ALL the time and were just too cute together!  Come to find out, they went to our church--so they get to see each other every once and a while now!

{April 2}
The Swamp People were in town this passed weekend and we didn't get to go, but a lady at my dad's bank was kind enough to get this hat for Ryder man!  He loves it!

{April 3}
Poppy & Ryder Man wrestlin'

{April 4}
R was playing with play dough one night & said, "Look mom!  I'm a pirate!" Ha!

{April 5}
This was Ryder's Easter Egg hunt at MDO--he was a busy little body!

{April 6}
We got sno cones for the first time this season and R was tempting Poppy with a bite or two!  It was too funny!

{April 7}
& just to embarass him last later...he may or may not have come into the kitchen the other night like this!  ;)

Easter 2012

What a beautiful Easter we had together as a family, celebrating our risen Lord!  Saturday night we dyed eggs using Kool Aid!  SO easy & simple...you should try it!  ;)  Then I insisted R go to bed so the Easter Bunny could come, and luckily he did!  ;)
Punkin' got a Woody & Buzz beach bowl, a new book, some sidewalk chalk, Angry Bird toy & t-shirt, and a Crayola crayon dry-erase board for church because they weren't having childcare on Easter.

Our church usually has three services on Sunday mornings, but for the first time in a long time, we rented out the high school gym to celebrate as ONE church, something we haven't been able to do for many many years.  We not only celebrated the resurrection of Christ Jesus, but also the fact that the church had recently made it's FINAL payment on it's loan for our current building.  WHAT.A.BLESSING!!  We literally had a note burning right after the service & it was so neat to see many long time members around me wiping tears from their eyes as this was taking place.  We've been in this building since 1997, and boy has HE been faithful!  It's so neat to see where He is leading our church and I can't wait to see what the future holds!
{We got there 30 minutes early and had some time to chill...}

{...and this is as good as it got!  :P}

 {mom & dad}

{Poor G couldn't keep his eyes open, but I thought it was too funny with R climbing the tree in the back ground!  :P}

Then it was time to head to Nana & Papaw's!  We had Nana's homemade rolls, ham, rosemary chicken, poppy seed fruit salad, sweet potato casserole and green beans.  It was ALL so delish!  Had had too many desserts--carrot cake, yellow cake with chocolate frosting, Pioneer Woman's apple dumplins with homemade ice cream!  Man oh man!
 {Our own personal Easter Bunny giving directions}

Ryder LOVED the Easter egg hunt and did great even against the big kids!  We had to dump his bucket out to keep filling!  He got lots of candy, money and some fun tattoos!  :P

We are truly best, and I love celebrating and spending special days with the special people in our lives!

Project 365...Week 13

{March 25}
Never a dull moment at our house...IF you can't tell!  ;)  He is very creative-I can give him that!

{March 26}
When he was lining up to hit the ball it was always RIGHT at me.  So I made this little box on the grass with spray paint so he would know where to stand!  Best thing I ever thought of!

{March 27}
After telling him "not to get your clothes wet"...this is how I find him!  He was having TOO much fun just laying in the cold water & kicking his feet, so I just let him!  Sweet memories!

{March 28}
Sneaky little booger, saw some tulips in our neighbors FRONT yard, so he walked over there & picked me this flower!  I hated to get on to him for doing it, but I HAD to!  You can't just pick any flower you see for your Mama, but I do love that he thinks of me!  ;)

{March 29}
Playing outside after Pajama Day at school!

{March 30}
He got to ride the firetruck at the mail after he spotted them!  :0  & enjoying a much needed CFA date with Mama before going to see the Easter Bunny!

 {March 31}
Uncle G was over at my parents with a trailer on his truck full of mulch, so Ryder set up his Cozy Coupe & wagon like this so he could have a "trailer"...I thought it was so creative, and he just wants to be like his Uncle G!  ;)

It's Okay...

A few events that have occurred this week have made me realize a few things...

  • It's okay for Ryder to play in the bath passed his bed time
  • What's the big deal if Ryder ate all the Easter candy he got at the egg hunt today during MDO?
  • If Ryder wakes up in the middle of the night & says his stomach & throat hurts, but tells me that watching Mickey Mouse will "make him feel better..." & we end up watching MMCH together from midnight to 2 am...that's okay, it's just sleep.
  • It's okay to let R play get muddy outside in his "good clothes"...they're just clothes.
  • It's okay if I have to bathe him twice a day for having too much fun.
  • It's okay to let him be "that kid" inside of Wal-Mart with no shoes on (in the buggy of course! :P) (I was the person who SWORE this would NEVER be MY child!  ;) )
  • It's okay to let him play Dora on my phone while I'm missing phone calls & text messages...they'll still be there when he's done.
  • It's okay to let him eat 12 donut holes every Saturday morning on our weekly trip to the "donut shop"...
  • It's okay that I spend 80% of most of my Saturdays outside letting him play instead of keeping him cooped up inside while I do homework or housework.
  • It's okay that my floors aren't always vacuumed or mopped...
  • It's okay for me & R to jump on the bed together--while it's made!
  • It's okay for me to let R make a mess in the living room when people are about to come over...
  • It's okay for me to let him wear his cowboy boots with shorts while we play outside...
  • It's okay to let him drink a small sweet tea from Sonic two days a week...
  • It's okay that my blogging isn't up to par with my old blogging habits because I am too busy with spending time with him and/or school and am just too dang tired to tackle it after he goes to bed (even though there is SO much I want to say!)
It's okay...

Life is too too precious, & these things that may seem like such "No-Nos" in the perfect parenting world...are the things that our kids are going to remember about growing up, so I am going to let them happen, and try to do better about reminding myself that we ONLY LIVE ONCE & so do our kids & to LET THEM LIVE!
